Spyderco Resilience. This is the big brother in the Spyderco Tenacious and Persistence family of knives. With 4.25" of 8Cr13MoV steel it's the largest of the three but shares the same G-10 scales, skeletonized liners and leaf shaped, full flat ground blade. It also shares there very reasonable price. Paid $35 + shipping from Cutlery Shoppe for this one.

So far I'm calling it a winner. It's extremely smooth opening, almost feels like it's got ball bearings instead of a pivot pin. Blade came shaving sharp, lockup is tight with no blade play at all. The G-10 lines up perfectly flush with the liners. The liner lock engages at about 50%, when open the trailing edge of the lockbar is pretty much flush with the leading edge of the blade shank.

There are a few negatives though. The blade isn't perfectly centered but darn close.

Also the blade grind is a little wavy from tip to base.

Neither is an issue to me and for the most part, purely cosmetic. IMHO, if you're looking for a fairly large folder at a very good price point you should check this one out. If you already have the Tenacious and or Persistence then you know what to expect and you owe it to yourself to add this newest model to the herd. Heck, at twice the price it would still be a deal.
