I'm getting so I have a fondness for Remington 1858 style revolvers. I am looking to get a few extra cylinders for one that I have to speed up reloading.
While they are quick to change out cylinders, they are prone to lock ups caused by fired caps falling down between the cylinder and back cylinder wall. Their tolerances are very tight in this area. Conversion cylinders (such as one shown in the article) solved this problem.
