NYC Gun Registry Challenged In State’s Top Court

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — The New York Police Department’s four-year-old registry of gun-toting criminals, meant to curb city violence, faces a legal challenge in the state’s highest court.
The novel measure, advocated by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, has since been copied by other municipalities including Utica, N.Y., Baltimore, Chicago and Washington, D.C., according to city officials.
