Count my vote for the .44 Mag. The recoil and muzzle blast don't bother me at all. The trick for handling recoil is to let your wrist follow the handgun when it pushes back and up. Done correctly, recoil is more of a "rocking" motion than a "pushing" motion and I seldom pay attention to muzzle bast, anyway. I guess, when shooting at night, muzzle blast would be much more noticeable.
