Thanks for the link Steve, that is a pretty good article on the 1941 Johnson.

I had the opportunity to buy a Johnson at a local gun shop in Bryant, Arkansas, back in the 1980's. There were actually two of them on the rack next to some other milsurp rifles and I remember picking it up and fondling it but I wasn't well enough versed to really know what I was looking at.

Had a sporterized one I bought for $1500, shot great, accurate and should have militarized it , I called it my pregnant Garand, and like a dummy I sold it later at auction for $2800. Wish I had kept it.
