The battle of Los Angeles was a real UFO incident that took place back in 1942 in LA....the US Army opened fire with their AAA on a UFO.....I got an old newspaper photo of the searchlights on the UFO.....its a large glowing disk shaped object.

I liked Skyline, but it looks like this one is a different kind of alien invasion movie. The alien soldiers appear to be mechanized, armored bipedals. They appear to use some sort of directed energy weapon from what I can see from the trailer.

Sony Pictures Entertainment has been investigating the possibility of legal action against the filmmakers Greg and Colin Strause, who were hired to do visual effects work on Battle: Los Angeles through their special effects company Hydraulx. Sony Pictures suspects the Strause Brothers have created their own Los Angeles based alien invasion film Skyline, which will compete with Battle: Los Angeles release, by using resources they had gained while working on Battle: Los Angeles without the consent of Sony Pictures.[5] A spokesman for the Strauses has responded saying, "Any claims of impropriety are completely baseless. This is a blatant attempt by Sony to force these independent filmmakers to move a release date that has long been set by Universal and Relativity and is outside the filmmakers' control." [6]

I don't have a problem with that. hahaha I'll just move out some 20-30 miles into a red area (look at a California political map sometimes, we are imprisoned by small islands of densely packed blue areas whereas the vast majority of the rest of the state is RED), and then move back when all the blue folks are crushed into dust! More land for me! LOL! Less TRAFFIC! :D LOL!
