That's a Valmet port buffer. It will work with any smooth receiver cover. RTG parts has them.

Mr. Wizzard wins the puppy. I picked up two of them at a show at the Cow Palace in '85 for $5 each. If you can pick one up for $45 that is a sweet deal today as I think they cost that 20 years ago.

Her name is Sonia and she lives in Central America and has won two contests near where I live. She is 35 and I was hoping to see her surf this year.

A lot of Galil's in .223 have a problem of denting the brass when they eject. Some have used door edge guards on the receiver cover to help prevent denting the brass.

considering the number of people who like deflectors I wonder why no one has ever made a serious effort to market them. Maybe Blackjack could work up a few.

Maybe that would be a good job for us to try.

Sonia Estla Garcia Corria and I think she is from Panama and she is one of pro sponsored surfers in Central America. She has been in two contests at our beach '07 and '08. She is featured in surfer magazines on line in Spanish and English. She is 35 years old by the way.

That is a great idea, I was about to order some steel cased 223 for my Galil as my brass cased 223 was getting tore up. I'll try this idea now...

Sorry it won't work on the Galil, I had an ARM and the vertical cocking handle will rip off the buffer.

If she was toting a Kalashnikov in the other hand, that would be true heaven on earth. :bouncing-boobies::woot:

That "shell deflector" in the second picture looks to be easily defeated.

Thanks for posting the info, this guy is local to me, and i think this little item may solve my brass dinging problem with my VEPR 308
