Has anyone here checked out this book? My BIL was over for dinner tonight and told me about it. He spends a lot of time in Russia on business and told me there's quite a bit of buzz over it in the motherland. http://cjchivers.com/

I'll probably pick up a copy. Mikail's birthday was the other week. I hope he gets a few rubles out of the book deal since he got a major pimp on the rifle royalties.

Yup, I'm about halfway thru it now. Very interesting, but at least 1/3 of the book is how we got to the AK from the gatling gun. No complaints from me, but its pretty extensive on covering the interaction of AK development & distriubtion with situations around the world. I'm just beginning the part where the AR-15 is being forced on the military as the M-16 without proper testing & evaluation like the AK went thru.

So far I recommend the book.

Sounds similar to Larry Kahaner's book http://www.kahaner.com/ak47book/ that came out a few years ago. I still would like to get a hold of a copy of Chiver's book, just for comparison.
