So...

I've been noticing the need around my place for a small utility type vehicle for general purpose work.

Something small.
Something for in the yard as well as out in the fields.
Something with good traction in mud and possibly some snow too.

My first thought was a John Deere Gator of some sort.

But then I had a fun idea about something with a little more speed if we ever actually "had to" make a get-away of some sort. Ya know?

These look fun....

So I'm thinking the answer is somewhere in between the two maybe?
Any thoughts on this?

something that has the ability to keep you warm and dry is probably a better option for bugging out, ever hear of those small japanese pick-ups they've been importing?

Put those horses of yours to work...hitch em up to a wagon....make em do something else besides eat n shit.....those JD gators are cool though.....my niece used to live on a farm and she had one....she used it to haul feed and all sorts of stuff...she bought a house in town and sold the Gator....for nearly as much as she paid for it.

Yes. Gators are really really useful.
Lots of people have various years and versions of them around here.

There is a place in town that sells lil trucks really similar to those.
They've had the same vehicles sitting on thier lot for almost 3 years now.
Nobody will buy them because they are Japanese.
lol....

biker brother has the bike, Old guy with the beard has a Kawasaki mule. I considered the gator but this was handier with the winch, snow plow and tilt up box on the back. If you don't need the plow or the winch the gator should do everything you need. The newer mules you can get with a rear seat for passengers which I don't need or with dual wheels in back for extra traction with 6 wheel drive instead of 4, I have never needed more than the 4 wheels that I have. Thought I would need chains but a dozen cinder blocks in the back and I have yet to see snow I couldn't push.

In all seriousness, I "did" think about various Go-Karts too....

Decent used street legal sand rail type buggies cost about the same as some gator models from what I've been pricing. I think you're on the right track with the sand rail. I've looked into the go cart type but doubt they have the longevity the full size models have but they do look like fun.

Something street legal would definitely be a bonus.

Yeah, I couldn't resist when I saw the pic of the dune buggy. But to get on topic, in the area were my folks live a lot of folks use four wheel drive golf cars. You can get them with a bed in back or another row of seating.
