Hi All,
I picked up my first AK, a CAI WASR 10/63 UF with 3 steel mags, 1 Tapco mag, sling, cleaning rod, tool kit, mag pouch and bayonet for $508 total at the Colorado Springs gun show.

I have been lurking here for a while and want to thank all the posters here for sharing your knowledge. After visiting here I knew to check for cant, mag wobble, threaded barrel etc...

I spent about 3 hours cleaning the Romanian grease/kittylitter mix from the rifle and the steel mags. It cleaned up fine.

As soon as I can find a case I'm off to the range.

Thanks All!

I like the drop down angle of the WASR folders, it sort of smacks of the Chinese types, enjoy :)

My dealer wanted $400 for one of those.

The forestock wood was rough as sandpaper. I sanded and stained it ebony. See before and after.

The ones that I have seen come with shitty plastic grips, not modeled after anything real.

At least the wood ones can be fixed up if you choose.

I picked up some Wolf, but I haven't decided where and exactly what to get in bulk. Is there anything I should avoid?

Shoots first time and every time. I spent my time today adjusting the elevation. I got it right on at 100 yards. It shoots about 4" to the left at 100 yards. I'll adjust that next time. My range has the tool.

Once it didn't feed from a freshly inserted mag. Removing the mag & thumping it to seat the ammunition remedied that. Steel mags & Topco mag all fed fine when I loaded them right.

No trigger slap.

I'm glad I bought this rifle!

Anyone in Aurora Colorado want to go shooting?

I picked up 1000 rds of Ulyanovsk. No frills, I'll be going out this weekend and firing off ~100 rds, so I'll let you know how it works out, but it was the cheapest I saw ($189 + S&H)
