Cumbria shootings: laws controlling the use of guns are complex and confused, MPs say

Criminals who escape with suspended sentences should not be allowed to keep firearms licence, MPs have suggested.

The Commons' Home Affairs Committee also urged ministers to simplify the minimum age when children can legally fire guns.

It warned that current laws controlling the use of guns are “complex and confused”.

The committee started its inquiry after Derrick Bird ran amok with a legally-held gun in Cumbria in June, killing 12 and injuring a further 11 people.

On the Brit site I suggested they go back and read the Petition of Rights, 1628 and take back their citizenship. I'm also a firm believer that all laws pertaining to citizens being restricted should be rescinded, especially laws regarding weapons. Same goes for this side of the pond. There are no good gun laws, only the 2nd Amendment which affirms our rights to own guns without those rights being infringed.
