I collect the SKS and have owned almost every variant made. Sold all of them but the Russians. No more imports and I own several of the "blond" stocked Russian 45s. I did not so much as modify any of the Russians. I try to make my firearms purchases good investments as well. When I began collecting SKS and AKs, the Norinco SKS could be bought for $195 in excellent condition. However the red finish made them look cheap. About 3 years ago, I was told by a man who makes a very good living reading trends in firearms and is a good gunsmith as well. He stated he has repaired more SKSs retro-fitted with tactical accessories, than any other semi. His reason was they are cheap, easily accessorized, and not always owned by people who care for their firearms. He told me sell all your Norincos, etc.... and buy all the original matching numbered, unaltered Russian SKSs I can find. My pride and joy is a model 45, Russian SKS, Tula Arsenaled, dark Artic Ash finish. I also like my "blonds" but they are safe queens. I know its no longer a secret that nice SKSs like the ones you posted are worth quite a bit more than you paid for them. Great looking SKSs. I did enjoy the accuracy of the Yugos. They were consistently more accurate and could handle my "hot" reloads better than my temperamental Russians. Every Russian SKS has a personality of its own. But the Yugos were more consistent in conformity, finish, nice chrome barrels and shot better groups at 75 meters, open sighted. I once put a short scope on one and called it my hog slayer. Here in Texas you can hunt hogs day or night, rifle, pistol, spear, rock, grenade or Class III, as long as you want. My little Yugo hog slayer laid 126 of the fat critters to rest. My nearest Russian, which I still own and shoot at hogs, has only 46 "confirmed" kills. Beautiful rifles.

I've managed to gather a small collection:

4 - Chikomz........1-in as-issued config, 1 same only w/o bayo, 1-with camo-painted chikom fiberglass furniture - no bayo, and 1-with all issue gear except bayo and has a TechSight mounted.

2 - Romy's.........1-in as-issued config, and 1-that had a crappy broken stock which I re-fitted a Yugo birch stock set to.

3 - Yugo's..........1-M59 with teak furniture, 1-M59/66A aith teak furniture and 1-M59/66A with birch furniture.

One of these days I'll enter the modern age and figure out how to take and properly post pics so people know I'm not full of :bull: about all my guns.

Sorry it took so long to answer, Slamfire. Don't know how I missed your post, except to say it's my bad memory. Been thinking about a new camera, because the one I have must be a P.O.S. for putting pics on the computer. Lemme see what I can do to get the pics to you.

Thanks for the offer!

Here are the rifles I could grab up and post.

More to come when I can open the safe. Some say I am a gun nut. I say you can NEVER have too many guns and NEVER enough bullets.

There is one Russian 1951r with a Bushnell scope on it, in the last photo. No its not permanent. Its just a heavy dust cover I take off when I want to show the rifle with all the markings. I put it on this particular rifle to kill hogs. The real dust cover is kept in a sealed bag with silica tablets when not on the rifle.

Now that is one FINE rifle. Hang on to it. It will be priceless soon. Looks like someone really takes care of her. Coyote....have you taught your wife/girlfriend to clean a rifle? Just kidding. Good photo. I got one in the last photo in my link with all the black rifles. The scope is mounted on a heavy dust cover and holds a zero for about 500 rounds. When I want to show the rifle, I put the real dust cover back on it. I did not mention it because I was ashamed for not putting the original dust cover with the Tula markings and year back on it before I photographed her. She's my hog slayer and next to my bolt action rifles, my favorite of all the rifles I own.
