I gotta admit....the 80's were fuckin' great.
Long live Reagan....

The music was good...the booze flowed...the parties were awesome...the girls were hot....

I mean seriously, they were the best times in my life.......
I had more sex and partied so hard back then I'm surprised I didn't die from it...

Are you sure about 1908? Reagan wasn't born until February 6, 1911. LOL!!!

Believe it or not, but I knew Mark and helped him write the simple lyrics to this song when we both lived in Vegas. We lost touch when he went to Cali.
Life is funny. I went in the army instead.
His band eventually died out anyways...but still.

I went through my Divorce in 1992, a friend I hung out with played Warrant 24/7 so when I think of Warrant I think of an early 90's band... I believe they only had one 80's album.

I tend to remember stuff from High School days in terms of a block of time.
Then there was everything after.
I could kick myself in the ass for losing touch with Mark.

For me songs bring back memories of things I've done or experienced, it's odd how I can place myself at an exact moment in time just by hearing a song.

Iron Maiden is one of the best groups ever.I always went to the darker side of metal and I did not listen to the party metal. But at the same time I was also listening to various other music like Billy Joel and such.My music taste are real eclectic.

Shit I did most of my partying in the late 70's and only about 1/2 into the 80's - but I never did get into the hair bands and shit. I spent the later half of the 80's working my ass off trying to get a start in life and support a young family - same thing in the 90's.... and I'm almost done with that - my youngest is 16.

But at least I can type 1980, know that it was 30 years ago and not 20 :think2: :yeah:

I did my fair amount of :toke: and :anim_beer-1: but apparently, I stopped early enough to avoid too much brain damage... I think

According to Google, The Replacements included "Jangle Rock" in their music. WTF???

Jangle pop is a genre of alternative rock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_rock) from the mid-1980s that "marked a return to the chiming guitars and pop melodies of the '60s" bands such as The Byrds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Byrds), with their electric (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_guitar) twelve-string guitars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twelve-string_guitar) and power pop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_pop) song structures. Mid-1980s jangle pop was a non-mainstream, "pop-based format" with "some folk-rock overtones". Between 1984 and 1987, bands included Southern-pop bands like R.E.M. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R.E.M.) and Let's Active (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Let%27s_Active) and a subgenre called "Paisley Underground (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paisley_Underground)" which incorporated psychedelic influences.

Dude, don't be mislead. The Replacements started out as a Thrash/Punk band and then evolved into a gritty garge-rock outfit. They were quite good. Listen then decide.

I really wished you had meant 1908. Some of my favorite music cam from that year like Shine on Harvest Moon. Grandma was 8 and going to school in a one room school house. Great Grandpa was a moonshine drinking, post master, black smith, farmer and member of a band. Not much money to be made in South Dakota so he came to Wisconsin and did pretty much the same thing but made more money at it.

Grandma showed me some of the music Great Grandpa's band played like Don't leave your wife alone and Yankee Doodle Boy. Those songs would get you kicked off the radio today. I was shocked to learn that those old people even knew those words let alone anything about sex. Apparently that was what played well in lumberjack saloons. At least I learned why Grandma was such a tough old gal and why she was so handy with a 30-30. Rough crowd.

I don't even know what a hair band is. back in the 80's a 60 hour work week was a short easy week.
