I wanted to put one on my Saiga. They are a little expensive.

Somehow I don't see them working in a Norinco 84S and an SAR-3 since the mag well of the 84S is so much narrower. And I am not going to modify a Norinco or Poly Tech .223 just to use an M16 mag. Interesting non the less.

These might be for the Saiga-223 guys.

Guessing you are correct because the guy who listed it says Saiga, but also mentions AK and then never directly answers the questions about uses.

From what I understand you do have to take some material off the sides of the mag well to get them to fit most AKs. I really liked the idea for the Saiga, but I cant see spending over 150 then having to buy all new mags.

Hello,
I am that guy.

What questions were not answered? It was a holiday and I was out of town. What would you like to know? I finally got my account working again here, so I can answer any questions anyone may have.

They are made to work in any AK... including the 84-S, as well as other calibers. The magwell opening in the receiver does not have to be modified very much. The side flanges of the adapter can be removed instead, so that it butts up to the bottom of the receiver instead of having to fit up inside...like the renegadebuck adapter.
What does have to be modded, just like with the renegadebuck adapter, is the trunnion, to make enough room for the AR mags to fully seat in the well. It's a very slight mod that doesn't effect the strength of the trunnion.

Hello old friend! Thanks for the welcome. Yes somehow my account here has disappeared and all my posts, feedback, etc are gone. I've been a member here since '03 or so... Great to be back anyway. This was one of the first AK forums I joined...along with Assault Web, Gunco, and War Rifles. Been busy over at saiga-12.com since '04... was a Mod there for a few years, then moved on to being a Vendor. Still doing that there and on other forums...soon here too I hope. Trying to branch out now to reach some of the folks who don't visit that forum.

Man, sorry to hear that. What a terrible thing to have happen. I'm glad it's back online at least.

The beauty of it is, you can just hit your mag catch and remove the adapter with mag installed, and replace it with your normal AK or factory mags.

This is the new Gunsnet, all your post belong to someone else right now.Glad to see you are doing well.

This is a nice product you have come up with.I no longer own any Saiga-223 rifles but if I could get my hands on a Draco-223 this adapter would be nice to have.

Edit: Any chance of a .308 Adapter for FAL or G3 mags?

Cobra was nice enough to tell me about the forum so I thought I would stop by and help answer any questions pertaining to the adapters.

The AK adapters are a "universal" type. Yes they started of being developed for the Saiga but the ability to cross rifle makes was an added bonus that I never marketed heavily. This is something Renegadebucks design does not do so easily. His design uses the stamped steel of the receiver as an attachment point, where the MSA design uses the trunnion and mag catch just as a AK mag would. This allowed the adapter to fit the users needs. As seen in the photos that is a MSA adapter modified to do just that.
