I had one, but sold it. Was a great .45, but I hated and still HATE the price of .45......Just sucks, compared tot he price of 9mm. But, I just can't help but feel the alure.....its the gun my grandfather carried, the guns my grandfather'S carried. I love my beretta m9, but I just want one. I think I'll get another springfield, and probably replace the grips with some NOS WWII grips. It'll be hard, as I have grown to like the US on the grips, but think I'll just get the originals.......

Still a 9mm guy, but I think I need an old .45.......

I think owning a 1911 is mandatory.

The price of .45 does suck which is why I am looking to reload

I think everyone should own a 1911 of some sort.Reloading will save you some money, casting your own bullets helps as well.

All full size (Government frame) Springfield GI models are chambered in .45 ACP. There are 9mm full size Springfield Loaded models, PI9134LP & PX9130LP, but they in no way resemble the classic GI style.

A 9mm 1911 is like putting flames on a pinto.

1911 45 ACP was not meant to pimp out to another caliber.

I bought a SA GI .45 off a dealer on Guns America LNIB for $400...twas about 5yrs ago....the best pistola I ever owned.....the dealer said some guy would come into his shop once a month and buy a pistol and trade in the one he bought last month....the guy bought it and had a trigger job done on it...then true to form...he traded it in on another pistol the next month...he said he doubted my SA .45 had even been fired. :)

I would recomend getting a 1911. I love them. Even thought the price of 45 is high that shouldn't deter you. If worse comes to worse just don't shot it that often at least you still have the gun. Just take your nine mill out to shoot.
