I didn't know they made a National Match in .38 Special? Do you mean a Super Match in .38 super?

Never mind. Did a google search. Never knew Colt made one in .38 special?

Found this info off another forum posted in 2006

"Phil Stewart, a dealer in magazines, usually has a number of original magazines in a range of conditions varying from pristine to repaired. The magazines are scarcer than hens teeth, and the prices asked reflect this fact.

His phone number is (740) 393 0704, though he can be very difficult to catch."

Here are some replica/reproduction mags

From what I just reseached original mags run over $100 a pop and are even more scare than your gun. From what I could find they only made your gun from 1960-66, about 8,000 total (if that source was correct).

Would love to see some photos of the gun, learn something new every day.

Grumpy, are you sure you're looking for .38 Special mags? Maybe .38 Super if it's chambered in a 1911-type pistol?

Grumpy, then you either have a .38 AMU pistol or a .38 Special Kit pistol. Both were made by Gil Hebard Guns out of Knoxville, TN going back to the 1960's. A magazine is going to be somewhat difficult to find these days.

Update: Brownells has Stock #486-000-004. These are Triple K #732M magazines for your pistol. They aren't cheap @ $55.99 each.

Steve,

This looks like a Colt made gun, not a conversion

FWIW I've never heard anything good about Triple K mags but that being said I sure haven't heard everything about the either. Just thought I'd mention it.

Grumpy, I had forgotten about the NM version. It looks like Gun Parts Corp. lists a replacement magazine for your pistol.

They don't list the actual manufacturer. It could be the same Triple K product.

I wish I could find either a Army, Air Force or Marine Corp manuel to convert a 1911 to shoot .38 special in there they could show mw me how to convert a .38 super mag to feed .38 special .
