REGION: CHP officers return potentially defective bullets

California Highway Patrol officers across the state ---- including those in North County ---- were ordered last week to return potentially defective rounds of ammunition, officials said Monday.

CHP headquarters issued the directive on Friday as a safety precaution after receiving a handful of reports that a batch of shells failed to fire, CHP spokeswoman Jaime Coffee said.

Poster's Note: I have visited the Remington website, and specifically the Safety Center (http://www.remington.com/pages/news-and-resources/safety-center.aspx) page. There is no mention of Golden Saber ammunition being recalled.

Somebody done did dredge up an old story. There used to be a problem and a few guns got damaged because of defective rounds but I haven't heard of anything like it since 2007. I could be wrong, often am.
