And can't bring myself to sell this one. It's going to stay - its just too good of a rifle to let go.

I sold my old Enfield, 1902 No.1** IP - liked it too but the Swede is just special. I applied the same "logic" to it as the others that I'm letting go, but it just didn't work. Yes, I have two other guns chambered for this round, so its somewhat of a duplicate/extra that way but it doesn't matter. I hold it and look down the barrel through the excellent sights that my 49 year old eyes can still see just fine... and I know its a shooter. Yep, this one will stay with me until my cold dead hands let it go - to one of my kids. :)

I sold some lever guns too and have an older Rem 722 300 savage for sale.

I can only go so far :)

There are other guns like this to me as well - the ones that my Dad gave me - never will be sold. But others are just special in and of themselves and the Swede is one of these.

I though about selling some of mine but, with the way the economy is going and the expected inflation, they just might be the best investment that I have.

As you can see, not the a pristine example and nothing special in terms of collectability, but its a swede! And its the only milpec one that I've got left. Nothing feels quite like a swede in your hands. And the sights are great - they really knew what they were doing when they put these together.

I had one of those too :( Not quite as nice as yours - mine was a Remington with a standard stock, but it was wartime and in good shape...

The guys at the post office are starting to look at me funny - I'm heading over with another levergun to ship off - a Marlin 35 Rem - but at least its going to a good home - spoke to the buyer a couple night's ago - his first rifle :) and he's going to use it for deer and bear hunting in the UP - he's retiring and wanted a good deer gun - and he's getting one...

Nice, you have one with the Naval sight on it, so called because of the Viking ship image. My first Swede was such a model and it was quite the shooter. Sadly it and the other 2 went when I decided to eliminate chambering variety in my collection. Sold all my Sweds to one Gunsnet member. I wonder if he still has them.
