This is the lower I bought, straight from the store. No shipping required.

It is now available from AIM for $20 less! (http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1SASL&name=Surplus+Arms+%26+Ammo+LOW15+Stripped+AR+Lower +Receiver&groupid=214) How can AIM purchase the lower and ship the lower to AIM and still sell it for so much less? These are things I just don't understand. I guess that is why I am not a Business major.

All I can think of is the store sold it for retail or more and AIM gets it at wholesale and in bulk so their cost is much lower. They may also be using it as a tool to get you to buy other stuff from them, they only make a few $$$ off the lower, but see more profits from the other items you purchase.

Maybe?

Because AIM Surplus rocks. They are my favorite place to buy from.

Did you calculate the shipping cost from AIM and the transfer fee that will be required of you when the receiver arrives at yourr favorite FFL?

No, that will bring it close. I was more thinking of walking in the door at each place.

Because AIM makes thousands of sales a week and only needs to make a few dollars profit on each sale to realize several thousand dollars profit each week.
Your local gunshop probably makes only a few dozen sales a week and still wants to make a good profit each week.
I highly doubt your local guy could survive on AIM's profit margin.

Thats nothing, get a FFL, and buy 5000 of them at one time, and Im sure it will be far less.

Not hard to figure it out, buy it in bulk, and its cheaper, AIM is the place to buy!

That blows that they won't ship to CA, thats more than likely a legal lower here.

I bought the same lower on Gunbroker last year from a dealer for $69 ... then $10 shipping and $20 transfer fee ... if my dealer had wanted to buy 10 stock he could have made me a better deal but he makes more on the transfer than he would on the lower and had ZERO invested.

With tax I paid about $79. I live pretty close to the store and they have very good reviews, so I went for it.
