Nut,
You should post a pic of your entire China-man AK collection. That would be a good start.

To get my full collection in one photo, I would have to bother a few scientists to allow me to get my brother The Hubble to take the picture. Otherwise can't get a wide enough angle lens. :D

Actually if I dig out the photo of my underfolder collection, that would be enough to get the point across.

Oh, to be a pack rat.
I've only owned 2 Polytechs. Bought them just before the ban for $265 ea. The ban hit and with dollar signs flashing before my eyes, sold them for $700 ea. Dumb move on my part.
Oh well. If I knew then what I know now..................

I dig those Italian AK's as well. Rare as hen's teeth they are, but great shooters. :coffee:

Actually my second major collection is from that company that has been around nearly forever. Not many companies can brag to be owned by one family for nearing 500 years.

A clue!

I was just being a smart aleck, Nut. I've seen you post before about your Beretta collecting. :biggrina:

I guessed correctly also.
Ching-Chang-Chong is Chinese meaning P. Beretta.

Yes, but I prefer the Chinese AKs because the Berettas don't strike any fear in our government, but the Poly Techs and Norincos were so evil they had to be banned. They must be great rifles!!!

Continuing my quest to collect as many Chinese AK variants as possible, picked this MAK-90 up today. Barrel was not threaded when I bought it, it is now!

And then I find out that the actual Norinco 56 AKM with the folding bayo did not have threaded barrels!!!! Brought up some pictures of Chinese troops with them and sure enough, no threads.

Oh well, learned something new!

Nice rifle!!!

The inside on the Hubble comment is because my father was a major player in the design and construction of that amazing telescope. There were times he actually spent more time with the Space Telescope than he did with me, but being a photographer myself, seeing the photos coming back makes it all worth it.

I can uderstand all of that my Dad worked on the Lunar Lander in the 60's and they had pride in that. I was in the Army and had just got out as the project lifted off.

Quite a coincidence that not only do you mention the Lunar Lander but "Pura Vida".

My minister returned from a summer trip to South America, and the title of his last several services has been "Pura Vida"!!!! Amazing!

As to the lander, during the early manned programs, my dad designed some of the subsystems on the Mercury and Gemini capsules, but with Apollo wound up as he called it in environmental engineering as he helped design the life support system for the astronauts on the moon. Wouldn't that be funny if our fathers actually ran into each other nearly 50 years ago! Grumman anyone????

Oh and to you, THANK YOU for your service to this great country!!!

PS, nice rifles! :)

Come on Mr. nut... post some pictures. We all have these things to be enjoyed, not hidden away. How about a few pics? Maybe put some over on the thread "Chinese picture of the day.".

It's early, you have the whole day... What a fun project. CAMERA !!! PLEASE!!!

Actually I got lucky with the scrap I picked. That stock set turned my garage into a sawdust pile which took more time to clean off my cars without scratching them then it did cutting the wood. Didn't get the stock to the right shape, but was using an available end plate to finish it off so it was sanded to fit the plate and not a true Kalashnikov profile. The pistol grip is my impression of a Chinese, close.
