To carry this discussion a bit farther, what is the difference in a stamped vs a milled kit? No receiver trunnions? And the receiver flat?
Thinking about buying a Bulgarian milled kit. Since I don't have a machine shop to mill out a new receiver, I was curious whether I could make a stamped receiver to complete the build. Thanks

The milled kit has not trunnions because they are built into the receiver. You can buy complete receivers from Firing Line, Assault Weapons or Ohio and a few other sources. Because there are not countable trunnions, the parts count is lower.

Some people have machined, welded plate, welded rails and finish machined the milled receiver stubs to rebuild a milled receiver, but that is considered an expert build for someone who is very well tooled out. Better to buy the complete receiver.
