CAIRO, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- The outlawed Muslim Brotherhood said Wednesday it would promote democracy in Egypt but wouldn't field a candidate in the fall elections.

This is one of those "it ain't over till it's over" things...
This is different than what happened in Iran, but the potential still exists for the MB to make a move.
From everything I've seen thusfar - the military, lack of "charasmatic" mulahs, etc. I'm expecting something more like Iraq and hoping for that.

I don't think I believe either statement. I don't think the MB cares one whit about democracy, and if elections are held, they'll have a candidate. He may not identify himself as a MB member, but that means jack.

The MB is acting like a benign tumor. It's still cancerous and is just waiting for the right environment to turn malignant.
