I recently signed up on this site so I am new to this so please let me know if this is the wrong place to be asking but I have some questions about head-stamps and info on some 7.62x39 ammo I recently bought. I bought a total of 606 rounds which has 4 mixtures of different head-stamps. i have 351 over 91, 31 over 80, 04 over 65 and 61 over 67. Can anyone give me any info about them? I have found the manufactures of each one but didn't know anything else because of the dates and didn't know if things have changes since. Thanks for any info you have and if this isn't the right place please direct me there.

The 351, 31, and 61 are all Chinese, and the 04 is East German. Not sure what other info you need. The bottom number is the year of production.

Welcome, I'm the newbe here. Yesterday, I pulled out some old 7.62x39 ??? suppose steel core ammo. I found you guys and looked up headstamping and couldn't match it up to any listed. Anyway, I'm hoping someone may help me. It is stamped 351 70. Yes, at one time they were in several sardine cans, but when I got them they were in ammo cans, on stripper clips, wrapped in brown paper.

:welcome: to Gunsnet.

It is Chinese, and steel core.
Manufactured in 1970.
Most were lacquer coated steel, but some cases were brass.

What's it worth today?

Well what it's worth depends on a host of variables. If Obama gets re elected you might get 75 cents to a buck a round for it. I personally have sold Chicom steel core x39 ammo for 75 cents a round.
