A couple of years ago I started getting interested in knives. Mosly folders with a few slippies and fixed. Over the last two years I've gotten a little too into it according to my wife. Anyway, thought I'd post a few photos of some of my toys. Over time I'll try and take more photos share those as well. Hopefully you other steelheads can post your toys too.

Buck Mayo TNT carbon fiber (got this one for 1/2 off as a member of the Buck Collectors Club)

Didn't realize I had so few pics in my photobucket account. I'll need to get the camera into action. Let's see what you guys are spendinig money one.

My latest was a Benchmade 790 Subrosa that arrived last Saturday and is in my pocket this week. Ordered the new ESEE H.E.S.T. folder yesterday but that won't be out until Dec. Also have a special run Spyderco Ti/G10 Mili with M4 steel on order but it's delayed for release at the moment as well as two Buck Collector Club 110's with S30v drop point blades that will be arriving around Xmas as well. So many blades, so little time.

Slippies, what is that?

You and my old San Antonio buddy would have a great time together showing off your collections of butterfly knives to each other. He tried to get me into them but I had this coordination problem and aversion to leaking blood every time I tried to flip open the knife the way he did.

I've got 4-5 butterflys and I'm not very talented with flipping but I do love the asthetics and the design. Some are more utilitarian while others are really just for flipping. What I like most is they basically provide their own sheath when folded and when held and or locked open they pretty much can't fail unlike just about any other folding knife given enough force.

A slippie is another term for pocket knife. Basically it's a slip joint. The spring holds it shut one way and when you overcome the force of that same spring it holds it open.

I just picked up a Buck Chairman Series Stockman, http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10207358_425011003_425000000_425011000_425-11-3

my first Buck slipjoint in 25+ years. The first since this Cadet my wife picked up for me in the early to mid 80's when we lived near the Buck plant in Santee, CA.

I'm planning on sending the Cadet back to Buck for some TLC. It's got a bit of bladeplay and could use a good buffing after a couple of decades bouncing around with change and keys in my jeans pockets.

The knife thing is surely like a disease.
My weakness is Case folders especially the Trapper Patterns.
I'm also addicted to Schrade/Old Timer/ Uncle Henry stuff and every once in awhile I'll find one in an out of the way Mom & Pop hardware store.
A great find was two new in box,158OT Guthook Skinners.
