Due to a recent thread i was thinking about REDSTAR .Since he lived in Colorado and it was a dry climate he oiled his rifle stocks regularly. I swear he used Lemon oil on a regular basis. Any one remember?

Can't speak for Redstar, but I do!

Worked great for the old, dry, unfinished Birch on my M39. Revitalizes without coloring. Doesn't penetrate terribly well though, so you need to stay up on it, but the stuff gets the job done and doesn't mess with your wood at all.

It even smells nice.:cool1:

Don't recall, but I really like it for wood, used it on guitars when I played. Still use it on furniture.

It cleans the wood plus conditions it, I've never heard of it ruining a finish on anything.

I use lemon oil to get cosmoline off. Easier on the nose and good for the wood. I passed the tip on to Redstar and Zouave. Hummm... now I'm depressed.
