The offending software we had was removed. I resubmitted both GN & AK-47 back to google for review and I got back:

"Status of the latest badware review for this site: A review for this site has finished. The site was found clean. The badware warnings from web search are being removed. Please note that it can take some time for this change to propagate."

Thanks

Have to admit I was worried, happened as I was posting and I thought it came from me. Did a virus check and came up clean and no other site gave me that warning but that warning wouldn't let me on the site. I wish there was someway of finding out who does this crap because I really want to have some quality time with him/her/it.

It was most likely a script kiddie. The entire attack only took a few minutes. OpenX is the software we were using (not anymore..lol) to put up banners and the person who did it must have found a bug in that software and were able to modify the banner to access a link that asks the user to install a plug-in. Last night I spent a few hours going through the database and retraced what happened. I might look at system logs during that time frame to see where the IP originated (if they were smart, they would spoof that also). Its probably a useless effort but I'll check anyway.

If you can track it down consider me part of the posse. Especially if the culprit was a moron from my part of the country. I put them right up there with liars and thieves and maybe half a step above most politicians..................oops, did I just say that out loud.

After thinking about it.. I was pretty disappointed that the makers of OpenX did not send an email notifying PAID users of the software of this security issue. Their software was breached in Sept 2010 and I would have expected to have received an email stating "hey our software has a security issue, we have a patch". There is a patch available which is the fix for this issue but I would rather not use them. I dont know if Guns Network Staff pays a yearly fee, if he does, the best way to get back at them is to not pay for their software and use another.
