I haven't seen a coin with a color like this before, is it just the patina?
Hopefully these turn out. I'm taking the pics and uploading them with my phone :d

No silver in that dollar. Nickle over coper laminate. I've seen a couple of quarters over the years that had a straw colored tarnish on them. Couldn't tell you what did it to them though.

Looks like someone took a torch to it or used some sort of acid... maybe nitric.

Washed in a washing machine a few times or left/lost in water I bet. I pull coins that look similar to that out of washing machine drain pumps from time to time.
I've pulled stuff out so discolored that you couldn't tell if it was a penny or dime at just a glance.

There were some cheesy commemoratives sold with "24k gold" plating in 1985 - 25th anniversary of his election.

OR someone used the vinegar/ baking soda trick to clean it up and left it sit in it too long.
I did this to about 20 silver/half dollars a few years back, They're all the same color as yours.

I have several 99.999% silver coins that are discolored like that.

THAT MY FRIEND IS A COLLECTOR COIN.
Or atleast someone thought it was. The "patina" you see is fron 70's era celophone tape.
The back side is just tarnish.
