I have had a few Kershaws in the past. Good blades for sure. At this point it is a SOG flash that sis in my pocket. Love that knife.

I've been carrying this knife for the last two years:

Buck Sirus

assisted opening and keeps a nice sharp edge. A great knife for 70 bucks.

I've got a Chive, a Leek, two Blackouts, a Boa and a Blur! The Blur, with it's Tanto blade is my favorite of the bunch. But I probably wear one of the two Blackouts the most. It's the right combination of lighter weight with decent sized blade... ;)

I've got a PE Blackout, one of the first knifes I bought when I started collecting about two years ago. Don't carry it much anymore though. It was the start to a lot of other Kershaws, Spyderco, Buck, Benchmade, Bradley, Chris Reeve, etc. My latest was this past Saturday, a Benchmade 790 Subrozsa.

My CRKT , Greg Lightfoot design ! I have the serrated version . With the "shark-fin" on the back of the blade it's an easy opener .

Kershaws are great.
Fricken American made - "HELL YEAH". The way they handle, feel & work are excellent. I never had a Blackout but I did have a Blur. Tried to replace it with a Gerber, no where near the same. The Gerber isn't bad but the two don't compare.
I have a Kershaw Storm but it is a tad larger, heavier to carry, & isn't assited opening. After reading your post I decided to bite the bullet & order a replacement Blur, only this time with a Tanto point & partial serrated edge. I don't think I'll be disappointed.
Question is...should I "Thank You" for fueling my desire to replace the original Blur? Hmmm...
