'It's the decline in the water level,' she says. 'In the 1950s a lot of wells were drilled, and the water went down. Now you can't farm the land.'

I read that earlier. Who knows if it is honestly true or not given the level of left leaning bullshit slant that article had. If it is that's going to cause a serious headache for pretty much the whole world.

Worried about lack of rain??? Come to Indiana where most of the state is under water and another major rain storm is expected Wednesday morning.

I guess global warming, global cooling, climate change, dust bowl, floods, end of the world, only exist if you happen to be lucky enough, or unlucky enough to live in the wrong area.

O.S.O.K.

All thoughout our brief awareness of history, climate change has challenged man.

What's happening now is nothing new.

And as to this situation, the key statement in this article "it does not replenish".

They have to have known that the water was going to deplete - long ago. So acting all surprised and bitching and moaning is just stupid.

So the people that made millions off of the land will now lose millions - especially if the CRP subsidy goes away (which is should IMHO).
