After the quake in Japan and living near the Madrid fault line I would like to put together a good BOB I am place in my car. I am going to have one at home too put that's going to take more time to put together.

At any rate what I was wondering is there a good type of food and water container that will hold up fine in heat, like the trunk of a car in 95 degree summer heat without spoiling or ruining it? I understand it won't last as long and changing out BOB food is no big deal. Also as far as water it doesn't seem like a good idea to place plastic containers in heat like that but what about stainless steel with a plastic and rubber lid, are there any ill affects heat would cause?

Try some Granola Bars. The mylar bag, that they are in, seems to protect

the content very well.

The cookies, in regular plastic bag, don't hold up well against the constant

warming/cooling environment of a car trunk.

H.D.P.E. plastic canteen will resist "heat", and is much better than the thin

plastic (PETE) water bottle.

I'm doing a test on all these items at this time.

jerry can for water and an ice chest for your food. Your emergency kit should include a pressure cooker, a skillet, and a coffee pot.....chris3
