I have some great looking Soviet and Israeli wooden ammo crates. I also have stacks of old Chinese wooden ammo crates (before Clinton shut the door on Chinese Milspec ammo imports) but those you have to pry open with a crowbar. But I really like the big wooden crates with the hinged tops. I use them to store all sorts of stuff.

Anyone know where to get empty Wooden Ammo boxes? I searched online and only came up with sellers who were selling BULK ammo already in the box. I just want the boxes.

I know this is an obscure request so thanks in advance to anyone who might know. :)

often those sellers sell both bulk ammo in the crates, and smaller qtys of ammo without the crates. id give them a call and ask, they probably throw a lot of them out.

Check with Aim Surplus. One time when I stopped by their shop, they had a huge pile of them with a sign above begging someone to take them!

I was going to say call AIM as well, I can concur every time I've stopped by they've had a boat load stacked up outside. CFS is the same way as I bet most other distributors (shipping might be cheaper if someone else is close by).

If you live anywhere near Atlanta, there's a Military Surplus store off of Exit 16B (I-575) that has all sorts of wooden ammo/grenade crates. I was never interested in them as they're not relatively air-tight with the gasket seal. I have a couple wood crates myself though, but they came with the Soviet Surplus Spam Can Ammo.

I've got 10 wooden crates that I got from the CMP. I think they are Norwegian and they hold two 192 round spam cans of 30.06. The tops are secured with metal straps and wing nuts.

I could sell you a few if you really want some.
