Overcast here too. If anybody in my house wants to see a large full moon I'll have to drop my drawers and show them one.

Not a good idea in my house, when you live with a nurse and she see's something like that she grabs for her rubber gloves and biker brother is likely to poke me with a chunk of firewood. We will be moonless tonight.

Well the moon finally came out from behind the clouds now.
To be honest, I don't see the big deal.
It looks a little brighter than normal, but I can't perceive a difference in size or anything?
Dunno...

It would have really appeared larger just when it rose above the horizon.

When I lived in Puerto Rico, the full moon rising looked like it was only a few thousand miles away. It was HUGE
It became smaller appearing as it rose above the horizon.

Yeah, that could be.
I couldn't see it earlier.
I guess I missed the best part.

I was just outside with my sisters high powered telescope i have been watching the moon for about an hour before i called it quits... yes its alot brighter you can honestly see the mountians on the moon then looking at the north west an north east cornors of the moon with the telescope. You can also see in great detail were there were lake beds of water.. you can also see a mysterious black spot in the right hand cornor of the moon what is this ? :ohsnap:

There must be a haze of some sort in the atomsphere around here, it has a huge halo of some sort surrounding the full moon.

Really trippy looking.

I was kidding my son that it's radiation from Japan.

Could very well be.
I wouldn't rule it out.

Clear sky here and I must say that the moon was particularly bright and beautiful last night while I was camping out in the sticks.

Gotta love nature.
