I know that there are many who believe that Clayco Sports were considered the first of the Chinese imports, and probably so. Here is an underfolder, in box with all accessories which does make it very rare, but at what price????

Everything is only worth what you can convince somebody to pay you for it. In this situation hell could freeze over and I still wouldn't pay that for it. I don't see it as collectible really, though I do realize some folks do. I see it as but an underfolder AKM which right now is about a $700 buck weapon at best.

Nut, the one I picked up a few years ago (you passed on) was $1,000. Thats what I think they are worth. I think that one has been played with, the one I got the mags are wrapped in paper then clear plastic, sling is in plastic bag etc.

Mine was actually a rhetorical question because as most know, I already know the answer.

The one in the linked auction shows it as used, which in the case of an AKM is really no big deal, but when asking top dollar, or more than top dollar, it should still be sealed in the wrapper.

As for the number actually imported, there is really no way to know, but I do know that the serial numbers on mine are way higher than the number he quotes. :D

Did you see his other auctions?
That Poly is the highest bid I've seen in a while. I have one comparable maybe it's time to list it.
Of course some play that reserve to stay under then don't pay if they hit it.

he must really want a machinegun

I often wonder if some people set a crazy high reserve just to see how much people are willing to pay for what they have. Sort of a cheap appraisal.

My first AK! Actually had two of them. Had to sell them. Maybe someday I'll find one again I can afford!

Still hasn't sold. (I wonder why:smiley31:) It was to be my first AK but I had to wait and ended up buying a Hungarian in 1987. Lucky I was able to get one twenty years later.

Bidding got to $2151 and that still didn't meet the reserve??!?!?! The guy is probably trolling for a value (which is a true price someone would pay) or is hoping to find that one person P.T. Barnum used to talk about.

I have seen Clowns like this every sience 1990. They keep dragging the Same Rifle to all the Show's over and over, and never change the Price. After a while, you see dings, and scratches on them. They never sell it neither, I once offered a Guy an Offer at a Palm Beach Gun Show, he said he could get more for it somewhere else, Saw it again the following Show, 4 Months later.

The guy put in a bid of $1800 for it. He should have taken it.
