I'm getting closer to having it finished. So far I've used;

S&W Lower
RRA Upper
BCM Bolt/Carrier
YHM Phantom Flash Hider
Larue Low Profile Gas Block
RRA Trigger Kit
Troy 11" TRX Extreme Rail
RRA 16" 1/9 M4 Profile Barrel

My only concern with it was the Larue gas block. It's the kind that has 2 set screws in the bottom. I used red Loctite on the screws and then staked them in place. They aren't going to move for a very long time.

Here's the pic;

I need an Aimpoint Micro sight, a set of Troy back up sights, and a stock to finish it.

I'm debating between a SOPMOD stock and the Magpul CTR.

Your gas block should be fine. Nice build.

nice!! :thumbsup:

i generally hate any rails anywhere on my forearms, but (other than the 2 bolt on ones) i actually REALLY like that setup!

I'm not a big rail fan either. I wanted one across the top for the BUS and one on the side for a light. This rail system feels really nice in my smallish paws. The circle cut outs give you a really positive grip.

The only problem with the rail set up is that it's next to impossible to mount those little add on rails after you have everything installed. So I figured it's put them all on (3 actually) and just take off what I didn't use later.

Thanks guys!

Great job. I'd love to build another AR, but AKs have stolen my heart.
I too am not a rail lover, except for a top rail to mount a scope, etc.
