I keep wanting to use copper plated pistol bullets (from rainer) because they're substantially cheaper. However, I'm having trouble finding load data for the powders I do have. On their website they said to just use lead load data, or if you only have data for jacketed bullets reduce the maximum charge by 10%.

What I'm wondering is if this information is considered accurate and safe? Should I also reduce the starting charge weight by 10%? Is there something else I should know about using these things?

Use the same load data that you use for lead bullets.

Rainier say use lead data with their plated bullets but Frontier say use jacketed data with their bullets.

Use the data recommended by the manufacturer.

I've used the Rainer bullets. I go with the cast bullet loads or if no data for that, reduced jacketed loads.
