I just ordered a couple of these from SPG - they have em for $25/two. Look pretty good for the money...

Been eyeballing these for some time now...

Swedes make good steel and these are milsurp so they should be decent... ?

I have one of the wooden handled models and I love it, very sharp right out of the box and widely respected. just do a Youtube search for Mora

I have three of them. Wife keeps on in the kitchen and I keep on on my LBE and one for whatever. Best little utility knife I ever had.

Interesting. The Youtube reviews say "carbon steel", "carbon steel" and the description of these in SPG says the same but look at the pic:

OK, I did some looking because I thought they looked familiar. I doubt they are surplus. Look about halfway down:

$12-13/ea so 2/$25 is about the going rate but still not a bad deal.

They might be a subcontractor for the Swede military...? Who knows.

I've started to buy those from SPG several times... once they had them on sale for 2/$15... wish I had ordered then...

$7-7.50 for the first pound depending on UPS or USPS from what I can tell without entering all my info.

Ragweed charges a flat $6 IIRC.

BTW, I'm not busting balls here. 2/$25 isn't bad for a knife the quality of Frost/Mora.

Balls intact :)

There's always a better deal out there if you are willing to look or just post and ask.

I was there purchasing a miltech chest rig and saw these once again and decided to just add them to the order.

I'm just wondering if I'm going to get two Mora carbon steel knives or two Frost 860 Stainless Steel... or two Frost 840 carbon stupid SPG.

And it looks like these are just "military green" and not really milsurp - no matter.

regardless of what they are they're going to have an outstanding edge straight out of the box

Can't tell you how many times I've planned on ordering these the next time I placed an order with SPG. Just never ordered anything. They are pretty similar in design to the Finnish Puukko. Both are meant for hard, everyday use in harsh environments and while I can't speak to the quality or source of the SPG offering I would say that if the steel is decent you can't beat the price. Toss one in the tackle box and one in the glove box. You're good to go. Please give us a review when you get them.

Highly respected survival blade, I know they are used on a few survival courses as the standard knife. Great users... thinking about getting one myself.

Well, they got here (in good time too btw) and they are Mora Companion MG's. These are carbon steel blade as described, not the pictured Frost SS one's shown.

Seem very well made and sturdy - not to mention sharp.

Just thought I'd add a couple pics of the ones that I got:

That's a 44 Mag cartridge for scale.

For me, it was $5 cheaper for the pair delivered from knife center.

Just got mine in today. They are exactly like O.S.O.K.'s pictures. Razor sharp from the box. Easily shaved the hair from the back of my hand.

You think? Maybe a boning knife but not really.

Do you do your cooking in a deer camp by the skinning rack? :D
