~280 rds of 7.62x39 in a green crate on stripper clips.
I'm not an ammo collector, but I figured "what the heck?", could be steel core. I picked it up on my lunch break, so I haven't had a chance to look at the headstamps. I'll update when I get home tonight.
It sort of feels like Christmas :D

Headstamp is 31 75
If I read the link posted in the other thread about Chinese ammo correctly, it should be steel core because plant 31 didn't make lead core until 90. Right?

O.S.O.K.

Hope so for you! :)

I appreciate that. :D
Let's try some pics.

I'd say about 1/4th have some discoloration, and a handful have little rust spots

i would say you are correct on the steel core. pull the bullet and see if it's boat tail and if so it's steel core.

Definitely steel cored (the forbidden round) ammo. It will be corrosive primed btw. Those re copper plated steel cases. In it's day that ammo use to sell for about $80 bucks for a 1200 round case. Damn I wish I'd of bought about 50 cases of it back then.

When Obama got elected to office I got 75 cents a round for steel core 1990 head stamped noncorrosive Norinco 7.62x39 that I'd squirrled away. I think I had 900 rounds on strippers. Helped me buy my AAC suppressors.:naughty:

Yeah, def. corrosive. I had a guy give me a bunch of it and I didn't know it was corrosive at the time. Didn't clean my gun right away and had a ton of rust next time I pulled it out. No pitting, though. Thank the Bulgarians for chrome lined barrels.

I don't have any way of pulling bullets. Pliers and vice grips don't sound too safe to me?? Maybe not.

So there isn't much of a premium on this ammo? Did I do alright @ .30/round?
