This is not my set up nor it is me. See link below for laughs. I laughed and nearly spit beer out when I saw this. Had to share with the rest of the maggots.

This is a Molle vest set up to be run with either my S12 5 and 8rnd mags or regular rifle mags. The "map" pouch above the mag pouches is a holster for my PT145 and up to 3 spare mags. A radio pouch above that and a shotgun ammo/utility pouch opposite. The mag pouch in the middle can hold pistol mags, flashlights, paracord or whatever. The small square pouch is a RolyPoly dump pouch and the pouch behind it hold my binoculars and cheap ELF night vision(looking to upgrade eventually). For now I carry a Camelpak in the back mesh of the vest. All worn over my base layer.

This is my base layer of a web belt, my dropleg platforms(with my .357 on right and a utility/gas mask pouch on the left)and GI LBE padded suspenders. On the belt is a Cetme bayonet and a double speedloader pouch(large mag pouch) for the .357 as well. This stays on around camp.

The upper side pouches are utility so far but the lower pouch holds a 2qt canteen on one side and the other side is a 1qt canteen with metal cup. One of the mods to the pack was to pull off the long side pockets and reattach just the panels with the molle webbing so as to narrow the with of the whole unit. In doing so, I created slots behind the panels that I can store a coil of rope, a small e-tool and a machete.

I was waiting for him to describe his Scarpa Gecko Guide shoes in OD green with contrasting black trim for those formal dances on a mountain top.

I know one thing, I am not carrying all that shit with me. May look cool, but really a waste of energy. Essentials only. Little food, water filtration system, trusty SAR-1, 22 rifle, good knife and 1k of each ammo Need to be able to move easily and quickly so not to burn so many calories. That guy has all his stuff on one rig which is a major mistake. He will run out of energy and burn through his food water carrying all that. Have caches set up in various hidden locations with back up supplies.

I agree that what that guy is carrying is a joke, and for the reasons you state, however...

You're going to run around carrying 1k of 7.62x39mm as well as 1k of .22lr, while carrying an SAR1 and a .2 rifle a little bit of food and water, and you think it will be light, easy, and fast to get around with?
Take just the 1k of x39mm out back and do 3 laps around the yard and rethink things a bit.

I used to think I was a badass carrying around a Blackhawk Chest rig with 8 steel 30 round AK mags plus 4 pistol mags, flashlight, etc. My lower back won't let me do that shit anymore. 3-4 loaded 30 round AK mags is plenty these days, and I'm even leaning that way with the AR.

If I need more than that and can't get to a pack or vehicle or cache, I was probably boned to begin with anyway.
