I am tired of the ugly paint on my pistol. I am about to send off the paperwork for a SBR so I figured I needed to pretty it up.

Here's the ugly beast before sandblasting.

I just finished sandblasting it.

After a "Shake and Bake", she's done.

Another redo last night. Stained to black. Looks better, IMO.

I need to teach myself some wood working. I've got some hand guards to experement on before I do my PSL.

I'd rather someone beat me than to have to do any woodworking.
I hate it with a passion.

Really? It seemed like it would be a nice project to me, just refinishing some handguards.

After you do 50-60, it gets old really fast.
Still hate it.

You are going to SBR? What kind of stock?

Going with a side folder of some type. I haven't decided which yet.

ACE?

Don't know.
I'm thinking the HG would look better black.
What do you think?

Black would be good.

Black would be good.

That's what I'm thinking.
Maybe a modified Saiga forearm.

That's what I'm thinking.

when you SBR you can put the real vertical grip back on?

I'll look into forward grips while I'm deciding which folder to get.

Is this gun going to keep its current front end? I'd think the stock wouldn't make much difference on a gun with a one inch sight radius.

BTW, this looks a lot like your home made short brakes. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XTGBART&name=Bart+Brake+for+AK+rifles+w%2F+14mm+Left+hand+ threads&groupid=64

Dang, come up with a good idea, and everyone copies it.
That looks like a saw blade on the front. I'm sure a smooth face would do just as well, unless you want to poke someone.

I did another redo on the HG last night.
It's done.

It has a 4" sight radius.

You would be incorrect.
Have you ever shot a shorty off sandbags? I can hit clays @ 100yds pretty consistently. With a stock, it's possible the same can be achieved.
The cool factor also figures into SBR'ing it. :eyebrows:

BTW, the barrel length can be changed at a later date.

It really does look a lot better de-camoed. That pistols sweet man!

Have you stocked it yet. I think a krinky triangle folder would be sweet.
