Do you guys fill out and send in those manufactures warranty cards? You know, those survey like things that come with your new gun? I just found the one Savage gave me. They wanted it ten days after purchase, opps. It dose not look very secure, like a postcard.

I used to then I found it had nothing to do with the warranty and everything to do with marketing.

Sure why not?

I occasionally get a new gun with problems and it's nice to be on file as the original owner, plus if there are any recalls or updates they can get hold of me.

Besides if you bought it new in a store there's already a pretty lengthy paper trail.

No and I have never had a reason to use the warranty yet.

Yes, but that amounts to just one, my PKM, only because of what it is.

That one I could see doing that.

Yeah, I gotta say, With the quality, in both fit and finish, and the way she performs, gives me total faith in Wiselite!

I do not tend to buy crap. I do buy used and have gotten quite lucky.

I've never filled one of those out on anything in my entire life. I mean to, I just never do.

NOPE

Most of em don't mean crap.

You call the Gun Manu phone# with your problem and give them your serial # .

IE:

My savage I bought last year my extractor and it's guts went flying one day .
I called savage, gave em my Ser# and told em the problem and 2 days later I had all the parts I needed at my door.

Same experience with Glock.

The only time it's counted is when you had to send in your blackhawks for the new safety upgrades.

Your not shooting enough...

I shoot every weekend. There are plenty of firearms between my uncle and I that I can shoot a different one each week and still not shoot the same one twice.

Nope...

Twice I've had issues with new guns. One was a Century M70 and the other was a Savage 111. Both guns I brought back to the guns hop I purchased them from, and within a couple weeks they were returned to me fixed for free. No need to fill out a warranty card...

It's nice to be lucky but I don't count on luck.

I just recently had to send a Walther back to S&W for repairs and Kel-Tec sent me out a firing-pin for my P11 a few months back.

Everything went smooth as silk both times. Now I suppose they may have went well even if I hadn't registered them but why take a chance?

Personally I've been shying away from used stuff lately. The deals I used to get just aren't there anymore and if I'm gonna pay almost new price then I'd rather pay the extra and get a new one that has a warranty in case I do have troubles. Sometimes you find out why somebody got rid of a used gun.

O.S.O.K.

No I don't. I keep them in the box.

If I want to sell the "thing" later, I can sell it with the warranty card - makes the buyer feel better :) And no, I don't sell "as new" but I do state that it has the original box and warranty card with it...

I've never been turned away when needing to claim a warranty for not sending the card in...

Good points, I had a feeling it was more for marketing.
