Its hard to believe these things could ever dry up. I thought they had tons in storage.

Anyway, I'm glad I got mine years ago. Paid $80 face to face.

The 91/30s are someday going to have the same fate.
I'm thinking of buying a couple more before they get outrageously priced.

These seem pretty spendy...? I think I gave $70 or $80 for mine.

You got this from Kevin?

They look nice - I really like mine. I would have a hard time spending $200 on one too but they are now "rare" :)

I've never seen a bolt action rifle built as good as a Mosin at a $70 price point.
$200 is steep, IMO, but look at what you are getting. A well made rifle, with a little tweaking, will shoot almost as good as a commercial rifle. I am very happy with mine.
OK, maybe not the M-44, but the others will.

about 10 years ago for 150. It was new in the wrap. I have since picked up a Polish, Hungarian, and a Romanian. They are nice hunting rifles. The bayonet makes a dandy rifle holder while you gut your deer and have a beer......chris3

An M44 was my second C&R purchase when I first got my license 7 years ago. I got it from AI and paid around $70. I sold it when I got laid off from work 3 years ago and needed the money..man do I wish I had it now!

My first purchase was actually a 91/30 from AIM..and they accidentally sent me an M38 :)

$89.
They were $79 before they sold out recently.
The supply may be getting lower than we think, or like everything else, getting more expensive..

I paid that much for mine from Cabalas.CA two years ago. Killed two whitetail deer with it this year. With the sights set to the 300 yard marking, hit about an inch high at 230 yards (perfect out of the box). The deer didnt make it more then a few feet with the 180 gr softpoints.

Wow, I remember "5-fer" deals with my C&R through Century Arms. You'd get 5 M44s needing TLC, build 4 and have some parts left over, all for $100 bucks. That is $25 per finished rifle, one of which I won a marksmanship contest with here at Gunsnet. The only Mosin I've spent over $200 for was a Remmington still in dragoon config.

Well, at least I did something right and do not regret buying a lot of these fine rifles back in the golden days.
