Guess this is where I'll show my slow customization of my NIB 10/22...moneys tight, gotta do it slow and right.

Bolt just came in the mail from getting jeweled:

He also polished the other side of the bolt...slides slick as goose doo doo in the receiver.

Next will be a trigger job so it breaks around 3.5/4 lbs...will update as I go...wish me luck...;)

I picked up a 10/22 recently. I have been kicking around sprucing her up a bit. Where did you get the rail and rings?

Those came with the gun...like a dummy instead of buying a basic Wallyworld 10/22 for $185 I bought one from Cabela's with Pineridge scope (junk) and walnut stock...but I figure I'll still get a basic 10/22 and use the walnut stock from this one...still want one regular type 10/22 sitting around.

My son turned me on to this site. I bought 5 of their 25 round clips. Everyone of them works like a charm. They have really cool stuff to customize your 10/22.

This way too expensive for my tastes, but it is intriguing.

I used those and the TI one's. You can't beat those Butler Creeks, though. I love 10/22's, I just wish they'd use better aluminum in their receivers. It's so easy to strip those scope mounting holes.

What kind of finish is that on the receiver?

Some kind of baked on paint from factory.

I'm 95% done with the razor reciever so far:

Gonna shop around for a bolt and trigger group/housing for a bit. Might even get the stock version and do a few mods to it.

Moe,

What kind of buffer you using?
Still haven't decided myself.

Right now it's a polyurethane buffer.
I went with it since I could get a free replacement for it if it fails.

Humm, I've not see the rough factory finish before. I kind of like it.

Almost like a crinkle finish...bought it brand new a couple months ago and immediately took it apart.
