I've been on the hunt for another Single Action Army style revolver in .22 LR. I like the newer Ruger fixed sight Single Six, and they even make one with a color case hardened finished receiver that looks pretty cool.

While surfing through GunBroker I ran across the Urberti Stallion Single Action Army in .22 LR. I did a little checking up on them and they pretty much get thumbs up reviews so I bought me one.

It's a full size SAA and weights in at the same as a center fire version. Even so, I like it's heftiness and I'm impressed with it's fit and finish.

Also in my collection is this Colt Frontier Scout which was manufactured in 1967. Ran across it from a fellow, who was not a gun enthusist, who'd inherited it and never fired it. He didn't have the box, but it's in new in the box condition.

I've set this one back to give to my youngest son, who is now 14, when he graduates high school.

nice

I like the Stallions. Full size gun so you don't lose anything in the handling department.

Thanks, that will likely be my next purchase. I've been wanting a .22 single action for years.

EAA also makes a full sized .22LR/.22Mag SA revolver - Bounty Hunter. They run about $300 and have one-piece grips - all blue. Not a true SAA action, but very nice.

Your Uberty looks nicer though. What do those run and how's the accuracy?

They're running in the $400 - $450 range, but I acquired mine for $299. Accuracy is good, easily on par with a Ruger Single Six.

I really like the color case hardened finish. Here's a picture of it with my EMF model 1892 saddle ring carbine in .38/.357 magnum.

Now, that is one hell of a nice graduation present. He should be making straight A's to get that one.

I don't know shit about old cowboy guns, but so many times at my favorite fun store, Urberti's have screamed at me...."take me home' you know you want me"
