I was able to get the buffer tube screw out. The problem turned out to be the lock-tite that was came on the screw. I took a wire brush and removed some of the lock-tite and tried again. It went in perfect, and there was enough lock-tite left to keep the screw tight. Now if it will just stop raining enough for me to take it out. (The rifle to shoot, not the screw!)

Ah, good. Was it some blue looking goop?

This was red looking goop, but it is the same stuff. I have seen the blue stuff on other things I have put together so I knew what it was. It looked like there was a lot on the screw when I started. I should have thought to take a little off before I put the screw in. I almost did and talked myself out of it.

Either way I am happy. I do not see me wanting to modify anything except for possibly the sites, and since I ended up with the A3 that is a snap. If I want to change anything big I think I would build another one.
