Looking for a decent deer hunting rifle for my girlfriend. She's done plenty of shotgun shooting, so use to recoil, just want something thats not to heavy, and would prefer to already have a scope mounted but not a bid deal. Thanks.

skatedcshoes, if you're looking at something NIB take a look at the Savage Package Series rifles. Start at:

http://www.savagearms.com/firearms/models/

Then choose 'centerfire'-->'package series'

These come with an inexpensive 3x9 scope with either a wood or fiberglass stock.

Hope this helps!

I second that recommendation, the Model: 11 FCXP3 in either .243 or .308 would be all the gun she would ever need.

Thanks guys, we/she recently found a used bolt action Howa 1500 .243 win with scope. I told her she should wait and try looking for a new one but she seemed to like the Howa so put a down payment on it and should have it paid off in a short amount of time.

Howa 1500 has a good reputation, I think she will probably be very happy with it.

Do not forget the lever action rifles. The Marlin .35 comes to mind.

Just found out a friend of mine needs to get rid of all of his guns asap and has been trying to find someone to buy his Remington 750 woodsmaster semi-auto with a Nikon buckmaster 3-9X50 scope. After he bought it new, he zeroed the scope in and got his deer within first couple days and has been in a safe since. He said 500 firm, anyone know what they go for minor used in very good condition with the Nikon buckmaster scope?

skatedcshoes, this seems like a fair price for the combination. The Remington 750 used would probably sell for $400-$450 normally and the Nikon would add $150-$175. Sounds like you friend is in need of some fast cash. For you it would make a good deal in my opinion.
