Well not exactly. A CDC blog discusses preperation in case of Zombies as a way to promote general peparedness. Here's the link but it looks like the site is down do to high volume.

Funny, when I talk to folks about preparing for a "Zombie Infestation" they look at me like I'm nuts. Then I go on to explain to them that it is the worst case scenario, and if they are prepared for that, they'll be prepared for lesser scenarios. Now the CDC is using similar logic... go figure. ;)

Zombies have already started taking to the streets. How else does anyone believe that an unknown fundraiser named obama could become obama-messiah and get elected president!

I'm guessing the CDC doesn't reccomend a kalashnikov and a 12 gauge, which is the basis of all prepping.

a very good point is brought up in teh comment section.

One important point that is left out of many survival kit discussions is medicine expiration. A bottle of Ibuprofen indicates *when* it expires, but not *how* it expires. If I take expired pills of a given medication, will it hurt me or just not be effective? Evacuation packs are not updated frequently, and prescription medications cannot always be hoarded — so there needs to be a way for people to figure out what expired meds are safe to take.

Actually most MEDS are safe to take when they're expired. They don't CHANGE chemically, however, they lose their potency after time. Expiration dates are mandatory by the FDA for the terms of shelf life, lest the drug companies sell us 20 yr old bottles of asprin. LOL. They're just not as STONG as they would be when 'fresh'. Other things alike cough syrup or non PILL medications can change because of all the other stuff in it that is not medical related (Alcohol which evaporates eventually which increases the potency of the drug per dosage, sugar for taste, artificial food coloring, sucrose, etc.) That stuff may be altered like any other foodstuff by time, but PILL medication should be safe for a VERY LONG TIME. :D
