I'd be curious to know how many Diehard batteries were shot to get the results they wanted?

Did anyone see any acid? It looked like it's a dry cell battery.
I have tried to jump a vehicle that way (no battery in vehicle) and it never worked for me.

be interesting to see what happened if you shot it from the side rather than the front....
Apparently all the connections from cell to cell are located in the top of the battery. Maybe the reason for shooting the bottom.
I still didn't see any liquid (acid) coming from the battery.

I think we need to pass this vid to mythbusters and see what happens then.

The 2nd Amendment : Washington didn't use his right to free speech to defeat the British, he shot them.
Yeah, you need me shooting that battery with my 10 gauge. I won't even use a slug, #3 shot should do just fine.

They obviously were searching for the next generation of ultimate Diehard power. Enersys the worlds largest industrial battery manufacturer was capable of exactly that. Enersys and Sears worked together to bring the next generation of Diehard power to another level. The new Diehard batteries would turn out to be AGM(Absorption Glass Mat) composition. These new AGM batteries made up of a composition of lead paste absorbed into fiberglass matting. This new design did away with free acid inside the battery. The new Diehard could be punctured, and still not leak any acid. The new design was also very resilient to extreme vibration. Cold and hot temperatures were also not much of a issue with this new bullet proof design. Sears accomplished exactly what they had set out to do.

I would call it a mutlicelled capacitor not really anything like A regular car battery...
kinda like thishttp://www.optimabatteries.com/produ...uctInformationA gel battery design is typically a modification of the standard lead-acid automotive or marine battery. A gelling agent is added to the electrolyte to reduce movement inside the battery case. Many gel batteries also use one way valves in place of open vents, which helps the normal internal gasses to recombine back into water in the battery, reducing gassing.
An OPTIMA battery is not a "gel" battery or regular flooded acid battery. An OPTIMA is a Spiralcell AGM battery.
I call it bull shit! There is a Chevy Colorado forum?
