    Cool My bro's new shotty

Well, he's been talking about buying one of these, so I got it for him as an early birthday gift. It's a Saiga-12. And it's awesome. The only thing I'm not in love with is the color of the furniture and the stock--how will this stock hold up to repeated firing?

And he's pretty damn happy with it:

Can't wait to get it out onto the range!!

I've got a Tapco stock on my SAR 3- it's tough enough to drop and slap around it should be able to soak up some 12 GA recoil.

Also, quick question, how do I know if this thing is converted? A guy on another forum told me it wasn't, and I'll admit that I know nothing of the process, so I'm in the dark here.

It's not- the trigger is way too far to the rear. Conversion is primarily about moving the trigger to the traditional location, right up against the mag release.

Tapco just made a pistol grip for un-converted Saigas.

So do I have an issue with the magazine capacity now, or what? (Can it be more than 5 rounds?)

Technically, no- Saiga 8 rounders and AGP 10 rounders should work fine.

    Check your local laws though.

Some folks custom make big drums for them- but some need to modify the magwell for them to work.

My local laws are really good about these sorts of things, and I appreciate the help. This whole Saiga conversion thing, along with having compliant parts, makes my head spin sometimes.
