I've had luck finding 7mm at shows in my area, I've bought factory boxes (20rds) for as little as $7/each. I recently picked up a bag of clean milisurp ammo for $10 for 40rds. I think you'll like the 7mm, IMO it's the best all round cartridge ever made.

I might be able to get roughly 250 rounds for $20 tomorrow.
Box is white and just says. "7mm" on it and the headstamps say "7MM, YS"
I'll be taking my caliper and specs with me.
Then to the range with 20' of cord and 2 sandbags.

    since it's already somewhat bubba'd .

I've thought about getting a trench mag. Cutting the barrel down to 16" . adding new front sight/flash hider and making a scout rifle out of it.
Unless.... I go to a shop that's out of the way this weekend and try to get a stock for it for around $8. BUT I think all they have is large ring.

I'll post pic of gun and target tomorrow.

BTW this thing has the best trigger of any mauser I've ever owned. Feels like a pro job but it's original.

OK, I'll bite -what's the 20' of cord for? Is it to measure out your yardage?

    Thumbs up

Congrats on a 7 mm Mauser for $40 bucks. That is one chambering of Mauser that aluded me when I had Mauser fever. Almost got one once but the bore was a sewer pipe. Numnuts shot it and didn't clean it right.

You need to post photos as has already been stated.

    Headspace is perfect.

Shot good at 100yds just dicking with it.
Got on the bench to put it on paper and "CLICK"

half crap primer launched the bullet about 1" into the rifling , then it started storming pretty bad ending my day.

Tried SurplusFMJ/ Prvi Sp and some other for of SP ammo ( that's the one that failed)

Maybe paper it this weekend, BUllet tapped right out too.

Since the receiver already has a bum attempt to tap it I decided to make this a scout rifle.

New front sight and took the barrel down to 16" with a perm attached brake
recrowning and some other crap, hopefully done tomorrow with pics and new range report.
