Made a mistake and took it like a man. I can respect that.
Eph 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
I liked this reply:
"As soon as I shot myself, my training took over and I immediately called my parents". Bwa hahahahahahaha!!!!
It is a serious matter and the guy is definitely lucky the bullet didn't take a different path. I sure traveled thru a lot of meat.
Lucky he didn't hit the big fing artery in his leg. He wouldn't be making that video.
I still like the one of the female cop discharging her weapon when the suspect is on the ground with another officer on top of him. The thought balloon just screams dumbshit.
That's got to leave a mark. It also brings up a point I've been conscious of for a long time. Variety can be a bad thing. Your muscle memory you develop from using one weapon system over and over again can trip you up when you switch weapon systems. In this case he went from a Glock and one style holster that release by a thumb movement to a 1911 style and a holster that release in another spot.
He is very lucky he didn't hit his femeral artery, he wouldn't of lived long enough to dial 911.
I went the other way. Instead of being a specialist in one gun, one system I use a different gun every time I go out and try to shoot it enough on that outing to keep the feel of it burned into my mind and muscles. I prefer being able to grab and use anything without having to stop and make an adjustment. I might be slower on the draw but no one gun feels any better or works any better than any other and that gives me peace of mind.

So much for cocked and locked.
That had nothing to do with it, faulty technique and not bringing his barrel horizontal as soon as he cleared leather. Practicing more slow motion drill would have taught him to keep his booger picker out of the trigger guard but he was more interested in showing off. I've been doing this since the 70's and I still do slo mo drills. Two early shots early on taught me that haste makes stupid and stupid makes holes where you don't want them. I was lucky but it scared me enough to make me know I'm no Ed McGivern or Arvo Ojala.

they are already making parodies of it. The musical pocket watch theme from a Few Dollars More;

Tex was using a holster that is unsafe IMO. More than one shooter has had a ND with the Serpa. Trying to be fast and pushing the "button" put his finger on the trigger. The button is in a bad place plain and simple.
